PEER Pre-Enrolment Sessions for New Apprentices

Course Description

Pre-Enrolment Session for Apprentices who will be attending PEER for trade school.

Thank you for choosing PEER Education Employment & Training Ltd (RTO 45744) as your training provider.  To commence your learning journey with PEER you will need to attend a pre-enrolment session. Please select from the dates available and register your details. On completion of your registration you will be issued with the following documents to read: 

• Thinking of Studying at PEER
• PEER Learner Handbook

You will then be issued with a Docusign pack that will include relevant information that you and your employer will need to complete and sign.  The Parent/guardian and school principal may all be required (where applicable). 

Academic Transcripts 

If you have completed previous study that is relevant and would like this recognised as part of your learning, please provide your USI transript, Statement of Attainment, Academic Transcript or Certificate of Completion to customerservice@peer.com.au.

USI transcript is the preferred documentation. You can download your USI transcripts from: https://www.usi.gov.au/transcripts/info-for-students

Course Requirements

What to bring on the day:

• Calculator
• Photo ID
• Previous training transcripts for Credit Transfer review and processing (if applicable)
  Please note this is essential for scheduling your future classes. 

What to wear: Long sleeve shirt and long pants with enclosed shoes.

Agenda for the day (8:00am - 1:00pm)

• Welcome - Values, Policies, Procedures & WHS, Campus, and Supporting Learning and Portal Access
• Enrolment - Training Plan, Subsidised funding information, Fee Agreement, Profiling (on-the job)
• Upfront Assessment of Need 
• CSPA assessment 

CSPA Assessment

As part of the session, you will need to undertake the ACER (Australian Council for Education Research) CSPA (Core Skills Profile for Adults) assessment that may include reading, numeracy and writing. These are online assessments to identify individuals' literacy and numeracy skills, aligned to the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF).
