Course Description

Providing a solid introduction to working in the construction industry is extremely important as you begin your apprenticeship. In consultation with industry PEER has created a comprehensive induction program.

This program aims to provide skills and knowledge that makes the transition to working in the construction industry as seamless as possible. There is a strong focus on safety and the development of practical skills throughout the induction. It includes training in:

  • the use of hand and power tools;
  • first aid;
  • manual handling;
  • electrical and industry awareness; and,
  • whitecard.

As well as practical skills needed to work in the construction industry the PEER industry induction program focuses on many key areas for individuals. These include:

  • drug and alcohol awareness;
  • communication skills;
  • resilience; and,
  • goal setting and achievement.

Successful completion of all modules will provide skills, knowledge and confidence to begin your new career.  

Entry Requirements

Must have completed online course - Apprentice Induction Online - PEER and agreed to all PEER policies and procedures.

Delivery Method

Induction is delivered Face to Face at the PEER training facility and other sites as required. It is a mix of classroom and workshop based learning with experienced instructors.

 

Don't forget to bring any paperwork that has previously been requested on the first day.
