Course Description
To provide the participant with the skills and knowledge required to recognise and respond to life-threatening emergencies in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.
Course Content
This course contains the following learning content:
HLTAID002 - Provide basic emergency life support
- Respond to an emergency situation
- Apply appropriate first aid procedures
- Communicate details of the incident
Course Requirements
Participants are required to have the following:
Materials -
- Pens/pencils
- Photo ID
Clothing –
- Wear normal work clothes including
- Covered footwear (steel capped boots preferred)
- Long sleeve shirt
Long pants or overalls
Course Outcomes
On completion of this course, the participant will be able to competently:
- Carry out an Assessment of the situation and casualty
- Apply First Aid procedures
- Communicate details of the incident
A Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency HLTAID002 - Provide basic emergency life support will be issued to the participant after successful completion
Entry Requirements
There are no entry requirements for this course.
Please note: it is a requirement of this course that all participants must undertake practical demonstration of CPR on the floor on a manikin for 2 minutes.
